Why should mental health be considered as a subject in the school syllabus?
The concerning times take a heavy toll on our minds, pushing us to further develop, at times what is called, a severe mental problem which might last longer than a few days of just being mere anxiety and the overpowering feeling of anxiousness in the human body. These mental illness and problems of not only destroys our ability and the normal functioning of a body but also makes our minds question our abilities to perform in any sphere of life, time and again. Lately, the researchers have also found that there is a massive rise in the cases of depression in the past 2 years which has become the major cause of death rate.
As the country is seeping deep into the
pandemic and the health, financial condition of people is worsening it is
important to keep check on our mental health and dive into any form of self-care
that suits one the best. Concerning the times and the increase in depression
and cases of anxiety, it becomes imperative to make children aware from a young
age about the concerns of mental problems because in the coming times,
depression will only worsen as a disease just like any other.
Students should not be alien to the concept
of mental awareness because the awareness of the subject allows one to be
empathetic towards others and ensure to help another in need or convince one to
seek help, if need be, for there is no shame in it. People often mock others
suffering from mental illness and act lousy and careless around them which at
times may act as a catalyst in worsening the health of a person who may be
suffering from depression.
Hence, to allow children to be empathetic
and to make them aware of the steps to take care of one’s mental health is
important and shall be included as a subject in the school syllabus. The k-12 admission in Noida Extension may begin anytime soon for the further year, as
